Hell or Highwater

WOW !!!!! What a pleasent surprize !
Looking at this years UPROAR line up there were a few bands I had heard of but really didnt know much of thier music. There was only one band though that I had never heard of before and that being Hell or Highwater. Well folks I know who they are now !
HH is touring in support of thier debut album " Begin Again" The band consists of Brandon Saller (v), Matt Pauling (g), Neal Tiemann (g), Joey Bradford (b), and Captain Carl (dr).
I went down to the photo pit and was surprized I was the only photographer shooting these guys. I was thinking to myself "well maybe theres a reason. I wonder what these guys sound like"
HH came out all guns blazing. I stood back for a second blowen away by their sound and energy. At this point I was sooooo happy I was the only one in the photo pit. What a blast to watch these guys up close. I had a blast photographing these guys not only because I was caught off guard but freshness of the music hit me.
Vocalist Brandon Saller was working the crowd like he'd been doing this for 20 years and his voice sounded great. Both Matt and Neal were just tearing it up on guitar. I got to stand right in front of Neal while he tore up a solo from one of the songs. Great player ! Joey Bradford was all over the place headbangin with his bass and Captain Carl provided a solid beat.
Overall I'd give these guys a 3 out of 5 stars. Their playing next month in the Bay Area at the Avalon and I think Im gonna make a road trip to see them again !
